The VoiceMaster Launches the Philippines’ First Voice Acting Book in the Manila International Book Fair 2016

The 37th Manila International Book Fair will be held on September 14-18, 2016 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. It is the biggest and longest-running book expo in the country, where thousands of titles ranging from fiction, textbooks, graphic novels and educational materials may be seen and even bought at a discounted price. MIBF is a haven for book lovers as they have access to such wide variety of reading materials, and also an opportunity of exposure and exchange of ideas amongst the players in the publishing and academic industry.
MIBF is a great venue for authors to launch their new titles… and this year, the VoiceMaster is one of them.

Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales, releases the very first voice acting book in the Philippines entitled “Gusto Kong Maging Voice Talent”.
Pocholo has made his mark in the voice acting industry, not only because he has voiced thousands of commercials, anime, foreign TV shows, children’s programs, video games, audiobooks, etc., but because he has opened the door of the industry to aspiring voice artist through his school, the Philippine Center for Voice Acting. Since 2005, the school – also the first and only in the Philippines – has produced more than 1,000 graduates, and many of them have been making their names as voice artists, broadcasters, hosts and even public speakers.
“Gusto Kong Maging Voice Talent” is a book for all aspiring voice artists who would like to learn the tools and techniques to build a successful voice acting career. In this book, Pocholo has laid down a comprehensive yet easy-to-follow roadmap so that anyone can take the first step in making their dream come true in the world of voice. That roadmap includes:
  • The opportunities that await you in the voice acting world
  • How to find the best voice acting workshop
  • Tools and techniques to develop your vocal variety and vocal power
  • Scripts of commercials, animation, and even tongue twisters to help you practice your voice acting skills
  • Ways to uncover your niche and build your brand
  • PLUS: how to set up your own recording studio at the comfort of your own home!
For over a decade, Pocholo’s voice acting school has helped thousands of people to develop not only their voice acting skills, but also their confidence in discovering and pursuing their passion in life.

Pocholo formed the idea of writing a voice acting book because of the big demand for his voice acting workshop. “There have been countless times when I have been asked if our school has a branch in the provinces, if we can take more than 20 students per batch, or if we can do one more batch for the year. So while we may not be able to reach as much people as we want with our voice acting workshop, this book will be able to do so, as it will be available in bookstores all over the Philippines. It’s our very own workshop-in-a-bottle!” the VoiceMaster said.
In celebration of his 20 years in the voice acting industry, Pocholo launches “Gusto Kong Maging Voice Talent” at the Manila International Book Fair. The book is sold at an introductory price of Php 100 before it hits the leading bookstores nationwide at retail price. He wil also have his book launching and signing on September 17, 1-3pm during the book fair, at the Psicom booth 446-448.
With his vision of making the Philippines the center of voiceover excellence in Asia, Pocholo is looking forward to develop more passionate voice artists through his book. “As I always say, the voice is our most powerful instrument. It is the only instrument that can start a war or say ‘I love you.’ And in voice acting, there’s limitless opportunities waiting for you to discover, develop and maximize your voice.”

The 37th Manila International Book Fair is organized by Primetrade Asia Inc., in partnership with Book Development Association of the Philippines, Philippine Booksellers Association Inc., Overseas Publishers’ Representatives Association of the Philippines, and Asian Catholic Communicators Inc.
